If you selected Solid (Pause), the module equilibrates
the column with the starting %B and then waits while
you prepare the solid sample load cartridge. Place the
cartridge on the module and click OK to continue.
If you selected Solid, the module equilibrates the
column and immediately starts the separation.
If you selected None (on column), the module skips the
equilibration and immediately starts the separation.
If you selected Liquid, the module equilibrates the
column and then waits. When instructed, perform either
a Syringe Injection or use the Sample Load Pump:
Syringe Injection:
a. Connect the Liquid Injection Accessory from the
accessory kit to the Sample Injection Port.
b. Place the syringe on top of the Liquid Injection
Accessory valve.
c. Open the valve by turning the handle so it is in line
with the tubing.
d. Inject the liquid sample mixture.
e. Close the valve by turning the handle so that it is
perpendicular to the tubing. Remove the syringe.
f. Inject a chase solvent by connecting a syringe loaded
with a chase solvent to the Liquid Injection
accessory’s luer fitting.
g. Open the valve by turning the handle so it is in line
with the tubing.
h. Inject at least 10 mL of the chase solvent.
i. Close the valve by turning the handle so that it is
perpendicular to the tubing. Remove the syringe.
j. Click the OK button to continue the run.
Sample Load Pump:
a. Connect the outlet tubing from the Sample Load
pump to the Torrent modules Sample Injection Port.
b. Prepare the Sample Load pump to receive the sample:
If the sample mixture will be transferred to the pump,
insert the empty cartridge body onto the pump inlet.
Then, fill the cartridge with a measured mixture
volume.
