Foxy 3 Delay Volume – 60 mL
Foxy 4 Delay Volume – 80 mL
Fractionation Valve Delay Volume – 10 mL
If using custom-length tubing, calculate the delay volume of
all tubing between the Torrent’s TO COLLECTOR port and
the diverter valve inlet using the formula:
V = / 4 D
2
L
(otherwise expressed as: V= 0.7854 D
2
L),
where L is the tubing length (cm) and D is the inside diameter
(cm). The resulting volume is in milliliters.
Fractionation Valve Configuration – If using the
Fractionation Valve, enable the Fractionation Valve option
and enter a delay volume. The delay volume entries ensure
that the tube changes occur when the peak fluids are present
at the fraction collector diverter valve. You can calculate the
delay volume using the formula above.
2.13.4 Restart the system
Some configuration settings do not take effect until the system
is restarted. After completing sections 2.13.1 through 2.13.3
restart the system:
1. If the Configuration window is not closed already, click the
OK button to close it.
2. Place the Power switch below the LCD display in the Off
position and wait one minute or more.
Always wait at least one minute after placing the Power switch in
the Off position. Moving the switch to the Off position begins a
power down sequence that takes up to one minute to complete. If
you move the switch to the ON position before the sequence is
complete, the system may not start up correctly.
